The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.
When injected into the fat beneath your chin, KYBELLA® causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. Fat cleared from the treatment area is processed through your body’s natural metabolism.
This will be determined at a consultation in our office. The number of treatments depends on the amount and distribution of your submental fat and your personal goals. Up to six treatments may be administered, which are typically less than one month apart.
When injected into the fat under your chin, KYBELLA® causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. After we have reached your aesthetic goal vìs-a-vìs your chin/neck, it is not expected that you will need another treatment.
